Classes at Capoeira Training Club

More than a workout

Each class is a portal into rhythm, resilience, and community. You’ll drill martial arts techniques, learn to play and sign Capoeira music, build mobility and strength, and trace Capoeira’s Afro-Brazilian roots—all with a community of people learning and growing together.

THE FLOW OF CLASS

  • Guided full-body warm-up

  • Technique drills: kicks, escapes, acrobatics

  • Partner flow exercises

  • Live music practice (berimbau, pandeiro, drumming, singing)

  • Cultural and history spotlight

  • Roda application and feedback

  • Community check-out and announcements

Access With Dignity

What We Believe About Tuition

Capoeira comes from communities rich in culture, resilience, and spirit, but low in traditional financial means. At Capoeira Training Club, we honor that legacy. We believe Capoeira should remain a source of growth, connection, and transformation—not a luxury.

We value fair pay for the energy and care we give—sustainability matters. But so do dignity and mutual support. That means:

  • If you have the means, we welcome your full support.

  • If you don’t, and you're ready to train regularly, we’ll work with you.

  • No one gets turned away for lack of funds.

This is a community where people show up for one another—sometimes by paying full price, sometimes by chipping in extra, sometimes by simply being present and consistent.

Pay It Forward: Support a Fellow Capoeirista

Over the years, we’ve had students, parents, and friends ask how they can help others access Capoeira. That’s how our Pay-It-Forward (PIF) subscriptions were born.

If you’re in a position to give more, your contribution helps cover tuition for students who can’t afford full price. Your extra $10, $20, or whatever amount you choose makes a real difference—and helps keep the roda full of people who otherwise wouldn’t be there.

It’s not charity. It’s solidarity.
It’s one way we take care of each other, just like the Capoeiristas who came before us.

Ginga Life Kids —

a mentorship circle in motion

Our after-school classes are more than play; they’re a guided space where young movers train for life. Through Capoeira they:

  • sharpen balance, coordination, and real-world self-defense

  • sing in Portuguese and keep Afro-Brazilian stories alive

  • explore the beauty and excellence of Africa and its diaspora, growing a richer view of the world

  • practice focus, respect, and the habit of lifting one another up

Starting this fall we meet twice a week in the afternoons—just right for kids to channel energy, return home calm, and grow into confident, culturally aware athletes.
